The thing about being an artist that some might not understand is that it is something that is always with you even when you are not physically creating anything. Things attract your attention and immediately your mind starts reeling with thoughts of what could I do with that item, or how can I use that design to create something of my own. I dream and think creativity at all times, like pop-ads going off in my subconscious and I need and want that in my life. Without it, I am not me.
I created this site to serve artists. It may be a place where they can display their work for the first time on the web, or another link to get their name “out there”. It also may be a place where artists can meet others like them and share what they have learned from the business. And maybe it might just serve as a source of inspiration for someone who dreams and thinks about it, but just hasn’t had the push to sit down and do it.
I equate it to art school. When I was in school, I was surrounded by other artists all the time, and the energy was amazing. I literally didn’t want to sleep. Everyone would be bouncing ideas off of one another and creating new things to be shared and critiqued and praised, and it was wonderful. Then you graduate, and all of that energy is gone. The friends are there for you, but whatever was in the air in that studio doesn’t fill the air in the real world and you realize that you have to create it for yourself. This is my little bubble and I am happy to welcome artists like myself in. Come and breathe in the phresh air.
